Gregory Dutil, listed as a FC Miami City player but indicated as a “Team Director” on its website, was arrested by Miami-Dade County police Wednesday evening and charged with a number of offenses.
Dutil, 37, was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he remains as of Thursday afternoon. He is charged with armed burglary, cocaine possession, criminal mischief and preventing or obstructing the extinguishing of a fire.
As of publishing, FC Miami City was reached out to by Magic City Soccer has not yet commented. If they do, it will be included.
According to NBC 6, which obtained a copy of the police report, Dutil allegedly broke into a hotel room in Northeast Miami by breaking down a door and spraying the room with a fire extinguisher. Dutil was found in another destroyed room in the hotel with a silver kitchen knife and a glass of wine.
Once he was located, a search produced a bag with cocaine residue in his sock. He told officers that he didn’t remember anything up to that point and possibly had been drugged at dinner the night before.
Dutil, a French national, has previously played in France and Spain.
